Our long history of innovation and industry leadership has brought entertainment and information to millions. We come from very far, from faint dots and dashes heard in the headphones of radio pioneers, to digital television signals beamed over satellites orbiting 20,000 miles above Earth. Our story begins in the Philadelphia science laboratory of Elihu Thomson and culminates today with the first demonstration of live high-definition television broadcast in the United States, soon to become a reality for millions of homes, around the world.
